is it possible to get one at a max offer on ge if you're quick enough to put the offer, seconds after the update?

Its definitely possible, if you manage to beat all the merchants with 10 piles of max cash trying to get the first offer, who literally no life the GE the entire day. Some people would sell because phats have gone up more then enough and want to sell it before it crashes. Wish Jagex never removed that highest price item table trades...

Unless Jagex drops them again, which I doubt they will, they will keep on going up unless they drop for some reason like merchers but overall they will never stay down... I think. :?

so if people offer to buy more partyhats in the same slot, then they have a better chance of getting one?

Since the limit is 2 rares/4hrs it doesn't matter how many are put in the offer. I was just pointing out how insanely hard it is to get anywhere near the first offer against merchants like those.

If someone is that desperate to sell, yeah

it can also be the fear that phats will unexpectedly crash.
