Doing multiple assignments every day & I wonder about what shield I should use when meleeing.I know the visage drag shield is prob the best in game atm, but I'm not willing to pay that much. I hope I'll get a visage drop one day ;)Anyway, I've been using obby shield all the time but then I read the crystal shield is better. (the one where u can choose between the crystal bow & this shield)But is dragon shield not better? I have no clue, plz give some advice. I'm not willing to pay over 3mil for the shield, so what should I take? Cheefoo Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 -Obsidian shield for ranged defence.-Dragon square shield for melee defence.-Mind shield for mage defence.-God book/Falador shield 3 for prayer bonus. However, I greatly reccomend a rune defender unless you really, really need defence because you're getting hit so much. The defender's accuracy and strength bonus speeds up tasks quite a bit. Cptbaker08 Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 For slayer all you really need is the Rune Defender. Most tasks a DFS would be overkill on the Defense. Only tasks you might need a DFS are Dragon tasks and those that really hit hard. Other wise a Rune Defender would be way better. And with the new potion you could possibly just use the Rune Defender instead and not have to worry about it. I find the Defender is good for all tasks. I use it for when I use my prayer gear or when i use my Mage Def gear. You can use the others that are listed in Cheefoo's post but i find the accuracy of the defender to beat out the little mage def or prayer those give. I haven't tested the Falador Shield 3 yet as i recently got it.
