What did I Miss?

Ok, so I haven't been on runescape in about.... Well you guys remember that security update that got you that security shield emote?

 

Well, yeah its been THAT LONG.

 

Before then, I was just getting into my membership and then when it cancelled out on me. Well, I couldn't really play anymore since my bank was filled with members' items. So I quit.

 

My old username was Cool_Guy878 btw. (Just in case you want to check my stats)

 

So, I know a lot has happened in the past year or so, so can you guys let me know how much I missed?

 

Did another huge glitch happen like with that guy Durial321 where someone could kill anybody, anywhere at anytime?

 

How are jagex doing at stopping account trading?

 

Any new quests? What did I miss for the easter update? Should I do the halloween one?

 

Any e-drama? When did Tip.it forums level up lol?

 

Finally, any new skills? How is Summoning and hunter doing?

First off welcome back to RS :P. However this topic doesn't really fit here and would be more suited in Help & Advice or even locked (I'm not sure it's up to the mods). You can take time to read the updates on the main Runescape page or skim and see what catches your eye. The main updates have been Soul wars, Mobilizing Armies, PvP changes, and the Dragon Pickaxe.

 

So, I know a lot has happened in the past year or so, so can you guys let me know how much I missed? A lot :P

 

Did another huge glitch happen like with that guy Durial321 where someone could kill anybody, anywhere at anytime? No but we did experience the infinite penguin glitch where you could click a penguin as many times as you wish and trade the points for XP getting people 99's in a matter of hours. This yeas has been plagued with various small glitchs that have ended in people being made such as the one when the rest function came out you could attack any monster and it wouldn't fight back.

 

How are jagex doing at stopping account trading? Nothing much besides shutting down sites and watching IP's.

 

Any new quests? What did I miss for the easter update? Should I do the halloween one? Do all the quests :twisted:

 

Any e-drama? When did Tip.it forums level up lol? Not that I know of and just recently.

 

Finally, any new skills? How is Summoning and hunter doing? Nope but summoning and hunter are doing fine...I guess.

Well there is a new skill coming out next year, and it's F2P (well part of it I assume). Jagex is keeping everything about it under wraps though, so we are all in the dark. They did say it was not sailing though...

 

Some other random updates I remember are a new minigame called Mobilising Armies, a nice new in game map, and nicknames for members.

Quite a bit has happened

  Jagex released the next "detail update": Runetek5
   
  Name Changing was released
   
  A new minigame ,Mobilizing Armies,
   
  The Corporeal Beast was soloed
   
  Bounty Hunter worlds were released
   
  PvP worlds were released (Not sure if this was this year or last year)
   
  Pvp Worlds now have artifact drops that can be traded in for cash.
   
  A new high level dungeon was released (Living Rock Caverns) along with 2 new types of fish
   
  Jagex Held a machinima competition (excel won)
   
  The next part of the dwarf quest series came out along with: [Hide]The dragon pickaxe[/hide]
   
  Changes were made to the shop system and infinite stock was removed
   
  Staves are no longer required to autocast spells
   
  The world map now has maps for the major dungeons
   
  Behind the scenes was removed
   
  A new distraction and diversion, The evil tree, was added
   
  A new slayer focused pvp mingame, soul wars, was added
   
  The logout timer was increased from 30 seconds to 5 minutes.
