Karvinen
Wouldn't it be a good idea to be able to take and save screenshots in RuneScape by pressing a single key such as F12, like with Fraps? But just without any third party programs (that cost money). And more importantly, without copying, pasting, naming and saving that you have to do if you just use printscreen. That's impossible to do if you want to quickly take multiple pictures from a cutscene. A signed Java applet can write to the local hard drive of the user's computer. It wouldn't work for those who use unsigned applet.
Racheya
I agree something like that would be useful - but until (or unless they ever) add such a function to the game you can always use Screenshot Captor. It's free, you just need to sign up to their forums to get an activation key. I've been using it since I found out about it here on Tip.It, it's a great program  I do think that screenshots would be a useful feature for Runescape - though would it really be a priority? Or feasible? I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].
The Observer
I would find this useful because I'm always having to paste it into Paint and save it during Wars & PKRIs (whenever I get a kill). However, as Racheya pointed out, there are many programs out there that can do this as well, so it's not always good to have Jagex spend time working on this away from other, more important updates. :)
Zachneap
Some players however are incapable of doing things such as this.
Zaaps1
It would really benefit only a very small minority. Think about it this way. Look at the total user base. Then think of those that actively participate in Runescape communities outside of the game. Out of those people, then think of the players who actually make and share screenshots. Then out of those, think about the people who already use a program. Out of the people who don't use the program, think about how many actually NEED that critical few seconds to paste it onto Paint. ~It's Super Effective! Youmu
Imo, the only things worth screenshotting are level-ups, personal records, general accomplishments (like completing a quest) and sightseeings. All are easy to screenshot with the awesomeness that is the print screen button and Paint. Sorry, no support. Karvinen
Remember Jagex already has a screenshot taking feature for abuse reports.
Zaaps1
That's more likely just a transcript of the chatbox than an actual picture file, which would take up too much filespace. ~It's Super Effective!
