Ambler3's guide to Tormented Wraiths!

Ok, well a few of you people out there are reading this, wondering what on earth Tormented Wraiths are! Well guess what, this guide is here to help YOU get the best out of these monsters, and maybe earn yourself a few millions along the way![/hide]

 

[hide=starting off, and other basic info:]

Well of course you want to know how to fight this monster, if you have read this far! So let me give you some information: The Tormented Wraith is a level 129 monster, which can only be accessed with the use of Jennica's ring, after completion of the Summers End quest! Also this monster has a catch, you MUST be wearing black armor and weapons to deal damage (or even be attacked by it!) This only allows you to only use the following armour slots: Cape, Boots, Gloves, Ring (if you want to swap the Jennica's ring for a Ring of Wealth, or a ring of life if it is your first time!) and also the Amulet, so its best to get the best options you can afford![/hide]

 

[hide=How to get there]

There are a few different ways of getting to this monster, and this map is to show them:

The (colour) route is from bounty hunter, just follow the arrow, and when you are in the courtyard of the dark warriors castle, you should 'operate' your ring (make sure you take ONE of your black pieces of armour off, so the wraith does not attack you.

 

The (2nd colour) is from edgeville, just go into the wilderness, follow the map until you reach the fortress, and activate the ring as before! [/hide]

 

[hide=What should I wear?]

 

There are many different ways of killing this monster, but I will be covering two main ones, Ranged (with throwing knives) and melee (with a scimitar!) first off, we will cover ranged![/hide]

 

[hide=ranged setup (Throwing Knives)]

requirements: 70+ ranged, 10 defence, 43+ prayer and completion of summers end.

what to wear: There are many different ranged setups, but one of my preferred methods is using black throwing knives and ranged potions, allowing for some VERY fast kills!

here is a picture of what you can wear:

 

(note, I use a amulet of ranging because you get a very low ranged attack bonus, and it helps to make your range attack as high as you can!)

 

(note you must use black or black elite armour, GOLD TRIMMED OR REGULAR TRIMMED WILL NOT WORK!)

 

There is also the crossbow setup, which I have yet to try, but my friends tell me this can work quite well! [/hide]

 

[hide=Now, onto the wonders of melee!]

 

requirements: 75+ strength, 10+ defence, 43+ prayer and completion of summers end.

 

Melee is an interesting way of killing these, as you HAVE to use a black weapon, along with the usual black armour, so your max hits will be reduced by a fair amount! The main idea is to go in, without a black weapon on, use your super potions, protect from melee, wield your weapon and attack! The kills will be a bit slower than with ranged, as you do not have the constant hits of throwing knives but here is a picture of what you should wear, and also a inventory picture!

Hopefully, after reading all of this, you will have a rough idea of what to do. So, my fellow adventurer, I wish you luck in slaying these monsters!

 

For a full list of the drops, go HERE and you will probably notice that you can also get holy exlirs, and spirit sheilds, I once managed two spirit shields in under an hour! (made me about 400k :D )
