Socialism
Hello, I was wondering which would be best for f2p? 85 Mining exposes you to rune ore, but I don't know how quick of a profit that is. Yew cutting gets good at a woodcutting level, but I don't know how easy that is because of all the competition around each tree. Which skill should I raise to maximize my profits? I don't know how long it will take to get a full load of coal and then bank it (Mining guild) and how much that would make me in an hour. I'm asking the Rune Tips Community for the best advice on this matter. Thank you in advance for your advice.
shelbysays
both have their pros and cons Pro's supplies obtained by it are usefulsupplies obtained by it are expensive(selling makes cash)not many people can mine addy or rune so less compition cons takes a whilerune mining can be dangerous in f2pboringhave to mine individual rocks woodcutting pro's fastmakes money fast cons most logs are unsellable Competition and ability to sell will probably determine your profits
mario_sunny
To add to that first post: In my opinion you should go for woodcutting. It takes far less time to get 60 woodcutting than 85 mining, even though rune mining is slightly more profitable than yews. Yew trees aren't hard to find in F2P. Most of them have a few people, yes, but as long as you're constantly chopping a tree, you won't be slowed down by the amount of people there. If it gets to a point where there are just stumps lying around and everyone is waiting for a tree to spawn, and it takes a few seconds, then you're at a location that's too crowded. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . stonewall337
Mining. Woodcutting yews is around, what, 150k an hour if that? Rune mining is at least 400 in f2p, probably more like 500k-600k. Not to mention, you really only start getting yews at a decent pace at 75+ WC. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. Zaaps1
Woodcutting yews at 150k per hour is an extreme overstatement. Anything over 80-90k is generous. Compare to to mining gold at the crafting guild, which easier is over 100k per hour at respectable mining levels. Only reason why WC is more popular is because it's easier. But whenever something is easy, it's not efficient. ~It's Super Effective! Troacctid
Mining is much faster. Even in p2p with 99 woodcutting, dragon hatchet, and no crowds, in a spot closer to a bank than f2p, yews top out around 240 logs/hr. If you do the math, you'll find that it barely breaks 100k gp/hr. And like I said, that's in p2p under optimal conditions. In f2p, you have a slower hatchet, competition for spawns, and a longer banking distance.
