Powermining f2p

Either Rimmington or the Al-Karid mine are best. I average 30k Xp an hour in Rimmington.

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Any place with 3 close iron rocks will suffice. Rimmington and Al-Kharid work, as said above. Locations such as Hobgoblin's Mine and Edgeville Dungeon also work, to an extent.

I have calculated that over 42k xp/hr is POSSIBLE, but extremely unlikely. You will most likely get 30-35k xp/hr, as Kaida said above.

Pretty much any location with two diagonally adjacent iron rocks (aka you don't have to move to mine both rocks).

About 35k exp/hour, as I've noticed.

Sonic, that only works on worlds that are nearly full, and only if someone doesn't try and crash your spot (which they will... :wall: ). With a less populated world, you get lower Xp rates (22k - 25k per hour on a world that's less than half full).

As Zaaps1 said, three rocks no more than a couple of steps apart work best. Since the run energy/rest update, you can run back and forth all day without depleting run energy and still make 30k Xp an hour on a world with 700-800 people on it.

Best go on a world with 1.4k people on it if you can get a "triangle" of iron rocks, or the closest thing to a "triangle". I've found that is the optimal population, balancing the iron's respawn time with average dropping time.

I powermine on World 1 all the time and nobody can steal my spot. Also, how in the world can someone "crash" your spot?

Is the running back and forth with three rocks more effective? Because I find standing inbetween two iron rocks the easiest and least annoying method to powermine.

For a full world I would go with the 2 diagonal rocks.

For a non 1k+ world than the three rock method. It is just that you have to move first then mine, and it slows you down. If you are a step away from a rock and just click 'mine' it takes longer to get the ore. And with click 'move' it is just another click, and you will already be clicking enough.

Rimmington has 2 sets of two rocks. Al karhid is usually less full and has 2 two rock spots, and 1 three rock formation

I've powermined from L80-86 and did it at Al Kharid. I get 30k xp easily and if nobody tries to steal my spot I get to 40K if I remain focussed...

2016 goals: all skills +30mil xp - Completed this goal 11th December 2016 smile.gif
2017 goals: get at least 3 more master capes (start xp: invention done@21st Jan, mining done@2nd April & ranged 76/104mil done@June 20th) & all skills +40mil xp (done 24th August)

Sorry, I've just heard it so often I thought everyone knew what it meant. "Crashing" is a term for when someone comes and steals your spot from you. These people show no respect to other players and only care about themselves. If they want the rocks you're mining, they'll try to take them. Unfortunately, no matter how high your level is once you've gotten your Mining high enough to one-hit iron the person who gets the ore is, generally, the one with the fastest connection.

As for whether or not running between three is more effective than standing between two, I personally find it more effective because I can log into an emptier world and still get decent Xp/hour without having to fight off crashers. Two rocks is easier, but there's only a handful of those spots and they're usually full. Maybe you're having better luck with the two-rock spots than I am because of the time difference (you're in China, I'm in Canada) and there's fewer people online when you play.

I really hope the two-rock method keeps working for you.

I guess it's probably because the super-awesome spot I go to has absolutely NO miners there (the steel mine). Though, I still do effectively in other spots.

That's why the two-rock method has always been working for me. :P
