Farming

I've been doing herb runs off an on for awhile now, but since I've took a break from combat and started skilling some I want to get more farming exp daily.

I'm not sure what to plant for certain types of patches, and if I should I even plant anything at all.

I'll be planting Snapdragons and Marigolds, I can do 2-3 runs on most days, sometimes none, sometimes more. And I'd be doing Maples I guess, I assume one run a day for those.

Not sure what to plant in these patches, if anything.

-Fruit Tree

-Allotments

-Hops

-Bushes

-"Special" patches

First decide how much you want to spend on fruit trees per day, then find a fruit tree that fits this requirement. Palm trees are about as expensive as maples at the moment, so would be good for planting.

Don't bother with allotments, strawberry if you really want to.

No hops.

Plant poison ivy in your bush patches, use a wolpertinger for picking if you can. It's 360 xp/patch for picking if you use a wolpertinger, I'm not sure if you'd get more xp from replanting every time.

In your special patches, you should plant calquat/cactus/spirit tree. Replant the calquat every day like a normal fruit tree, pick the spines from your cactus and replant the spirit tree whenever you have a seed. (and yeah, as zaaps mentioned, don't forget the jade vine)

First, I would like to direct you to my AoW farming guide, which may prove to be helpful in your case.

On what to plant, I suggest ignoring allotments and hops. I recommend planting poison ivies or whiteberry bushes, but don't bother with anything lower than that. For special patches, you want to have a cactus planted (you dont necessarily have to replant it, just harvest the spines from time to time), farm calquats, farm the Jade Vine, and you may choose to farm Bittercap Mushrooms by working them into your bush runs.

For fruit trees, you want to look at their gp/xp ratios. Then decide which is acceptable to you. I remember Pineapple to be 4gp/xp, Papaya to be 7, and Palm to be 10, but these may have changed. You should, as a rule, use a fruit tree that has an equal or higher gp/xp ratio than the normal trees you are farming (so if you are farming maples, you'd want to plant palms, etc.)
