today well i was training my friend told me to come to the stronghold to train with him becasue he got a shade robe and i was wondering what exactly do they do and are they those ones that are slightly transperant or are they ones im thinking of members?

You're thinking of Ghostly Robes. The shade robes your friend obtained are nonmember, and are only useful for the prayer bonus they provide (although monk robes are better).

They look exactly like the Black Priest Robes,

 

They offer a few prayer bonus, but monk robes give prayer bonuses.

Oh, and the shade set isn't that much different from the monk set. Either way, I still win in Fist of Guthix using either set as hunted.
