December 20, 200916 yr So today, just for the nostalgia of it, I dusted off my copy of the original Call of Duty. I hadn't touched it since 2004. But once it installed, trying to play it gave me the message "Fatal Error: 17 sound files unreadable." At first I figured it was just an outdated file type that wouldn't work, but they were .wav's. And why just those 17? I installed on my dad's comp, and he has the same specs OS as me. (32-bit Vista) On his, it works, but textures of outdoor areas can be seen through walls and such. Thanks in advance for any help. Get back here so I can rub your butt.

December 22, 200916 yr It's not a vista problem as I had it working on both vista and 7. Unfortunately, I can't give an any other help.

December 27, 200916 yr Author The game was added to Steam much later. Anyway, I bought form Steam with a gift card. Works now. Apparently it does work on Vista, but a few files in the Steam verision were more up to date. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
