So like, I decided to make another pixel sig, seeing as how my current one is over 2 years old and whatnot. The scene itself may not make much sense, but who cares?

 

Current progress:

Not finished with the character or ground yet obviously

 

I have some issues

-The lava looks like flowing hot sauce

-The ground is horrible. The reflections are worse. What should it look like?

-Anything else you may spot

I think it would add a little humour if you changed the face to where the guy was looking back with his eyes bulging out of his eye sockets (just like the classic cartoons where someone was scared/shocked0. Otherwise, it just looks like the guy was jogging from the lava.

I intend to make him a bit more panicky looking. I could try the eye-bulging thing, though I'm not sure it will look as serious as I'd like. His face is such a small canvas to work on.

I like it. In the sig you have now, the lava is a lot brighter. I think that would work better in this case.

I'm no great "realism artist", but I think some bighter highlights wouldnt make it look so.. crusty :P

 

Or some splits in the dark areas, exposing brighter lava underneath.

Just suggestions, I do think its good as is, but thats my 2 cents.

Looks really good so far, and I cant agree with you on your "issues".

 

Lava doesnt look like hot sauce, and the ground is fine. I actually like the lava colours.

 

The only real problem is the emo hair you've got on the guy.
