December 28, 200916 yr Hey guys! I got a headset mic for Christmas, and am having a bit of trouble. I plugged the input and output wires into the back of my comp, in what I believe are the right places (input in the red socket, output in the green socket). I can hear through the mic, so the output is working, but I can't say anything, so something went wrong with input. I've tried putting it into every other socket, and still nothing. Volume is at max, and there are no other switches or buttons that I can see. P.S. How do you open the ports on a routher? My comp gets its connection from the comp in the next room, and I need to open the ports on the router so I can run a server. Thanks for any help! Get back here so I can rub your butt.

Thanks for any help! have you set up what input your computer is reading? you do it in volume control under Recording. Live Messenger can also do it automatically for you.
December 29, 200916 yr Author It says "Not plugged in." I have no idea what the problem is. I really wish there was a way to try out hardware before you make your goddamn non-refundable purchase :evil: Get back here so I can rub your butt.
December 29, 200916 yr Check to make sure everything is installed/plugged in. You are correct on the input/output colors. Try any simple recording device on your computer to see if it is picking up/working. If not, trouble shoot it. If not anything I just said, then maybe you are out of luck. :( A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
December 30, 200916 yr Sounds more like you need to install the drivers. Run the disk if there's one with the product, and if not then google for the brand, model and "drivers" ie "Logitech somethingwhatever 100 Drivers"

Volume is at max, and there are no other switches or buttons that I can see. It doesn't seem like there has not been a solution yet. Another possibile reason could be the actual sound driver itself. Do you have two sound drivers? Like for example, I have a realtek dolby digital driver, and I have a regular laptop speaker. I have to manually turn off the regular laptop one to use the Dolby one. So if you have two different sound drivers this could be very likely the issue. As I have learned from experience that my microphone does not work with the Dolby digital speakers. -Luvandpower
