What spiritshield is best for (all kinds) of boss hunting and is also clearly better than dfs?

Divine if you have the gp.

 

I'm currently looking to get an arcane once they drop to the 60m mark as 20+ magic bonus and 3 prayer would be amazing for DK's as well as bursting lobs

However, it really depends on what you're doing. If you're soloing, you want a Divine. If you're doing DK's, like Joe said, you probably want an Arcane. If you're doing team Armadyl, you want a Spectral. As you can see, we need a little more information. :wink:

I should have added: the best all round shield for teaming GWD,CB, DK's. I just like to do a bit of everything <_<

If you want it to do everything, you probably can't go wrong with Elysian.

All round Elysian, divine is only good if you have a constant prayer source.

 

That topic takes into account 99 prayer, but fails to notice 88 summoning.

With a unicorn hp is stackable, there's currently no stackable prayer. So places like DK's where you last as long as your prayer divine drains it like crazy.

GWD how ever you have the altars and TD's are arguable due to the ease of banking.

For all around team boss hunting, you want a Spectral. A godsword is best in team Bandos, Zamorak, or Saradomin. A Spectral is best at Armadyl. A spirit shield isn't needed at all at TDs, and a Spectral would be helpful, though not necessary, at DKs. Spirit Shields aren't the best options for every situation. You should get a Spectral.

 

And spirit shields are DEFINITELY not useful for CB.

For team Armadyl, I like Elysian the best (over Divine, Spectral and DFS). Elysian can also be used at Sara- if you get last hit and need to tank the minis, then switching to Elysian + Whip helps.

 

I don't do DKs so I'm not sure what's good there.

Wow, you must be an idiot. If you want an all round shield, use the Fremennik or Mind Shield. They're very circular. :P

Bleh. Hate all this misconception... Elysian is NOT the best all around shield. There is no clear cut situation anywhere where elysian is the best choice of shield. Divine is best where you're taking a lot of damage. In every other case where you can survive on unicorn and other healing sources, DFS is just as good as an elysian. If you don't need a shield at all to survive you're better off with a godsword or rune defender or prayer book or something.

Now, divine is superior, I admit. But at DKS maging, ely is better. I mean, if an obby shield suffices for me, then ely is only going to be better.

All around for about equal amounts of DKS and arma, (Really only 2 places you need these shields) spectral and ely are close, but i'd get ely.

 

Also, DFS has -10 mage and -5 range. Not much, but makes a difference.

Elysian is the best shield for team Arma.

 

Sure DFS might be sufficient, but it has -5 ranged attack, no prayer bonus and no damage prevention. Using Elysian over DFS gives you that tiny bit of benefit in kill speed, reliance on altar, and also lets you have more Hitpoints available for ruby bolt specs. Divine prevents more damage, but that extra damage prevention is unnecessary and comes at a cost of prayer points, meaning that you need to bring extra prayer pots and be more careful when your prayer points are low. Spectral is comparable to Elysian but doesn't help with preventing Melee damage. Elysian isn't better than Divine/Spectral/DFS by a huge margin, but it's better by enough to be the best shield there.
