99 Range - Red Chinchompas

I'm currently level 88 Ranged with 4,671,324 XP.

 

 

I have a good amount of cash to spend on getting my Ranged level to 99. I don't care about money, I want it fast. However, I've got some questions:

 

1.) I've never played a single game of Pest Control (I know, sad for a level 134). What armor, other the void, would you recommend? I have a set of full Armadyl (Helmet included) with a Range set. Would that do?

 

2.) I've heard Mummies were altered. Should I do them or monkeys?

 

3.) How many Red Chinchompas would it take?

 

 

As stated earlier, I'm not worried about money loss. I've got about 20 Ranged Brawlers to use up as well. I'm willing to risk in PvP if I must use full Armadyl (I can pay attention and I've PvPed for months, so I'd be safe).

well although im not quite sure if its the fastest way, u could use ur range brawlers on the metal drags in the wildy i believe? if not just red drags and bury bones for prayer xp?

You should wear d hide and a trim cape if you have it, if not wear god cloak, and wear d hide if you dont have void. Just try and have a good prayer bonus and range bonus. And dont chin mummies, cause their really slow and annoying to lure, just go to ape atol skeletons, i get like 200k xp per 1k red chins ( i think thats bad) so it would probably take you around 35k or something, but thats just a random guess

You should chin the monkeys under ape atoll for sure, as they give much more exp at a much quicker rate.

 

Although no void is a bit of a disadvantage, it'd be better just to use dragon hide or armadyl since the 10ish hours spent getting void is not worth it just for 99 range through chinning as far as I'm aware. Also it is pretty boring getting full void, so if you just want 99 range quickly and most likely won't need void after that just stick with what you have.

 

For rates, from 91-96 range I got on average 275 exp per chin, with extreme range pots, void, and a geyser titan. I got 575k exp per trip, and 2075 chins used per trip. Each trip lasted around 105 minutes roughly, as I used 1 whole geyser titan (69 minutes) and the second one always had 37ish minutes left, so thats 101 minutes plus the banking/getting there time. This was over 6 trips I believe, with the last two trips being cut short because of other commitments (I hate logging out inside the place, ruins my mood), so the data is a bit flawed. Oh and I used 19 prayer pots and 1 super restore (for summoning points) per trip, along with 3 and a half extreme range pots.

 

So if you're 88 range, and we assume at least 250 exp per red chin, then you would need around 30k red chins from my calculations. But then again, I'm assuming a lot since I'm not sure if you have extreme range pots, or a geyser titan, which I heard adds around 20k extra exp per hour.

Unfortunately I do not have extreme ranged potions. My Herblore isn't even past 7. :P. My Summoning level is only 84 as well.
