Hexcrest and Focus Sight

How far do you think either item will jump before stabilizing? My only impression of the situation is that both items are going to skyrocket for the next few days/weeks, with lots of people junk trading and paying ridiculous prices on the street (As with most new items), and the focus sight will settle down at a price somewhat higher than the hexcrest since I believe ranged slaying is a little more common than mage slaying.

 

Obviously I, along with most other people, want to get both to get the full slayer helmet, but I'm not sure if I should continuously put in an offer now on the GE or simply wait for more to be pumped into the market by slayers. Will the end price be a lot higher or a little lower than what it is now after the new item craze?

I say they'll all jump to around 3-4m, then drop to around 1/2 the price of the black mask each....should take a few weeks though for this to happen

They won't drop below the black mask because:

1. everyone will want 1, even though most people will barely use it

2. it can only be received while slaying (so you need AND luck to get the task AND luck to get the drop) so can campers can't farm the items.

 

My guess is that it might stabilize at 5m each, maybe even higher. If you see what people pay for Armadyl I think my guesses are reasonable.

actually people will be using them alot since their both parts to complete the "Full Slayer Helm" making it more than JUST using one or the other as long as they can make the slayer helm themselfs

To be honest, I don't think the hexcrest and focus sight will be in very high demand after the initial week or two. Does anyone honestly range or mage slayer assignments that much as to be willing to spend many millions on one? Sure, due to the task only availability, they won't be in very high supply, but demand will probably pull it down to 2-3mil, maybe even less. Rarity is one thing, but just because it's rather hard to come by doesn't mean it'll be worth spending so much money on. Look at the dragon square shield, one half is exceptionally rare, and the other half is 750k, but it sells for around 300k nowadays. That's proof that just because something is rare doesn't mean people will be willing to buy it for crazy prices. I'm not saying the hexcrest and focus sight are going to end up like the dragon square, it's just an example. Even with the task only availibility, people will probably spend many slayer points until they can get one, or even resort to Burthroping. I hear they aren't even that rare once you get the task...

Hopefully it'll drop. I personally don't want to shell out 5 mil on each of them to get the full slayer helmet.

 

I guess this is just more incentive to slay up to level 77 from 68. :rolleyes:
