Fire Cape

Featured Replies

Hey all! Long time lurker, first poster here looking for some guidance. I'm one of those 99 Slayers that never bothered getting a fire cape but for obvious reasons I'd like one now. Being old and slow of reflexes, I figured I'd just get frustrated and didn't bother.

Anyway, there have been so many changes to Jad that I'm not sure what the best guide is and if they are up to date. Can someone point me to the best guide for me?

I have 99 in all combat skills except mage and 92 pray. I have full Armadyl if that's a good way to go and I plan to uses curses unless someone tells me different.

thaanks!

I read somewhere that curses take a turn to come into effect, and when I did the Fight Caves, I noticed it quite often, if I turned my prayer on after they launched the attack, I'd get hit, and then I sometimes got hit the next turn too (with prayer STILL on), so I'd actually recommend Prayer, but that's just from my slight experience.

I've seen videos using curses so I don't think they are a problem. I know people tout Muggi's guide but wondered if it's out of date as it suggest Guthans (no offense Muggi!) It was written years ago and not sure if it's been completely updated.

thanks again!

Guthans still remains just as useful a strategy as it used to. Many people continue to use it as the healing effect is still very useful during the caves.

Ok guys, thanks for the advice so far. Have tried several times now and despite getting extremely close the first time, I've lost to jad now about 5 times. Using Muggi's guide is good but I'm getting frustrated and lag got me good at least one of those losses. Was doing well and then all of a sudden after seeing no damage, boom I'm outside of the cave saying I lost. The healers are my problem along with the lag. I keep seeing different methods on the healers. Any other info would be helpful. Is it true the healers now regenerate after you kill them? Even the Runescape knowledge base suggests killing them but other sources say the regerate very quickly. If they do, I think I'll try running through jad next time.
