Michigander
This is my RSOF post about fixing this issue for Mac OS X 10.5.8I figured it should go here because this seems like a common issueQFC 25-26-808-60411673Help with quote tags appreciated. (Lols) Ok so you're probably been having these annoying game issues with crashing and such for a while now like me. Heres how I think I've fixed them. Firstly I'm running OS * 10.5.8 which is more commonly known as the most up to date Leopard. This and the most up to date Java which is Java SE 6 1.6.0_17. My web browser is Safari 4.0.4. Now we really will "fix it". • Open up a finder window. • Go to the Applications section • Find the Utilities folder • Open Java Preferences Now if you've done that right you will be faced with a window that says Java Preferences at the top. You will want to be in the "General" tab. If you see the word General highlighted below the Java Preferences then you're in the right spot Now you will see two boxes with a few versions of Java in them, you want the top one. It is the one with two bubbles to the right of it. What you need to do is drag Java SE 6 64-bit to the top of the list. For example, before I did this my list looked like this: J2SE 5.0 32-bit J2SE 5.0 64-bit Java SE 6 64-bit Now you want to click and drag the line that says Java SE 6 64-bit to the top. It will look like: Java SE 6 64-bit J2SE 5.0 32-bit J2SE 5.0 64-bit That was step one, now for step two. With Java SE 6 64-bit highlighted click the Options... bubble. You will probably see a blank box. Now in that box type in: -Xmx512m That tells your computer to give Java some more room to play 'Scape in. Once you have all of that all set and done you close Java preferences and if you have it open to read this guide restart Safari. Then just load up 'Scape and play. If you've done this and it doesn't work for you please post. When you post please also include your OS * version, and your Java version. DISCLAIMER: I'm posting this to help you if you mess up your computer with it it isn't my fault. [/disclaimer] ALSO, if you folks at Jagex post this under your name can you at least give me some credit? Also, the *'s are EXs (minus e and s) Silly censors :/ Edited February 19, 2010 by laura0077 Fixed quote tags.

Laura
I never had a problem with it in 10.5.8, but I have since moved onto 10.6.2. Another method is to run Safari in 32bit, which also solves the problem.
