Neohero1972
Hi Today i was ranging bloodvelds in the Canifis Slayertower using my Seercull bow when i got an advice from a fellow player who suggested to me that i would better off using a magic shortbow instead as it had, if i remember the conversation correctly, a better rate of fire. I quickly made a look-up in the tip-it Item Comparison (God i love that tool - drool !) and found them to have the exact same stats in ranging: 69 So now i wanna hear what you think about it: Seercull or Magic shortbow ? snowboarder
i'd say go with either or it doesn't matter their the same thing except for the look, price, and spec
brunokiller
Seercull is slower than the shortbow. My blog
Sinkhan
The ranged attack are the same, but the attack speed is different, with the MSB 1 tick faster. So in that case the MSB is the superior choice. You should consider a rune xbow and some bolts instead though. It's even more accurate and hits significantly harder (Iron bolts hit about the same as rune arrows. Think about what you could do with mithril or broad bolts.) They're the same speed as your seercull, but you can also use a shield slot item. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
12pure34
Against PvE (NPC's) The magic shortbow is superior. The strenght is the same, yet the speed differs. Magic shortbow shoots faster. Also the spec of Seercull doesn't do any ''extra-damage'' but reduces the magic level of the target. Since this doesn't add anything to your training.. its useless. The magic short bow however has a great damage spec. Also, the seercull is far more expensive then the cheap and easily accessible Magic shortbow. So all in all ;) Magic shortbow is FAR superior to Seercull.
Cactuaar
If they both have a 69 range bonus, then get the magic shortbow. I'm pretty sure that it is faster, so you'll hit the same but at a quicker rate, without sacrificing accuracy. Also, for monster hunting I would say that the magic shortbow has the superior special attack, because lowering your enemies magic level is useless in PvM in almost every situation, compared to two quick hits. Even if they're only the same speed, I think the magic shortbow is cheaper, if that matters for you, so for ranging monsters get the magic shortbow. If you PvP a lot, the seercul may be better for the special attack only.
Neohero1972
Hi Thank you all for helping out - the choice is apparently obvious. I'll go out and get myself a nice magic shortbow \:D/ @Sinkhan I'll keep what you wrote about using a crossbow in mind and will consider to give it a try also. Sinkhan
None of the above, knives are the best at bloodvelds. Just make sure they're black or above. Bronzes and irons are near impossible to buy these days. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
