Neohero1972
Hi I think that something needs to be done about the information in the Bestiary on the monster's drop-table, because as it is now a search for 'Ranarr' will only show the monsters in the God War Dungeon. What if i would like to see all the monster which drops Ranarr ? - it is currently not possible ! I had a slayer task (107 x Molanisk) the other day and i looked the monster up in the Bestiary and found it, IMO, lacking detailed information about what i could expect it to drop. So i wrote the drops i got down and wanted to submit this info only to discover that we're not supposed to give this information ! I simply don't understand why this is not relevant, because if this info is not available how do i know which monster(s) to kill in order to get specific drops ? - i sure can't do a search for them in the DB can i ! Sy_Accursed
Erm you can submit info if you discover new drops etc Thats why we have Websites Updates and corrections > Beastary forumhttp://forum.tip.it/forum/152-bestiary/ Searching by drops is a bit buggy. If u skim thru various drop tables you'll notice sometimes Only Ranar links and the (5) doesn't (these seem to show up) in others Ranar(5) links and in others it doesnt link at all. Rien
Heya, I've moved this thread to the Bestiary subforum of our Submissions board. :) As Paw_Claw said, you can submit Bestiary-related corrections here, and you can do the same directly through the site (there's a "Submit Correction" function at the top-right of every entry). However, regarding grimy herb drops, most Bestiary entries won't have individual herbs listed. Instead, you'll find a single "Herbs" drop in the Miscellaneous section of the majority of monster drop-lists; this is because, in general, monsters which drop one type of herb will also drop every other variety as well. In the cases where this principle doesn't apply, we've listed the herbs making the exceptions (e.g. the Dagannoth Kings in addition to Commander Zilyana and her minions will only drop ranarrs as their herb drops, so we've specifically made a note of that). I hope this makes sense. :) I'll leave this thread open for now in case you want to ask about anything else, so please feel free to respond. Interested in helping the Tip.It Crew? Sy_Accursed
Good to know tht bout herbs, but other search terms are quite bugg: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster=&orderby=&keywords=gold+charm&levels=All&race=0 Gold Charm searched for, cover ALL levels You only get like 10 monsters back, when common sense dictates nearly every monster in-game should be returned Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

The only monster entries returned by the query are those which have a note stating that the monsters drop more Gold Charms than any other type. I can see that this is because of the way we list Charm drops, unfortunately (Charm(1): Gold, Green, Crimson, Blue). Hmmm. I'll have to ask in-house if there's anything to be done about this. I'll get back to you on it, but I'm afraid I can't make any guarantees in the meanwhile. Interested in helping the Tip.It Crew? Check out our Website Updates & Corrections Board! Neohero1972
Try to search for Wergali ! My search came up empty ! - even though i got three Wergali Seeds from my Molanisk slayer task ( i'm not sure whether or not this is important, but i was wearing a Ring of Wealth at the time) This seeds-issue is also something i would like to see changed, because i have from time to found it a bit frustrating not being able to find which monsters drop certain kinds of seeds. I don't claim that it was unique drops as i don't hunt higher level monsters where such drops may be common. However, i find it a bit doubtful if Jagex hasn't excluded high-value herbs/seeds from the lowest leveled monsters like gobins etc. anyway, let's just put this thread to rest... Sy_Accursed
They drop them, just extremely rarely. Why do u think people farm stuff like lvl 32 druids to get masses of herbs? SportsGuy
When I first became a member, I killed a Man in Lumbridge and got a Grimy cadantine as a drop. It's possible to get high level herbs from low-level herb droppers, but not common. Recent threads on the RSOF that have been commented on by mods have shown how their drop system works and even how things like their Slayer system works. There is always a chance of certain things (like gem droppers always drop key halves) but not a great chance of it happening. Like the crew have said, there are exceptions (monsters that only drop certain types of things), but you do have to remember that thousands of people kill the same monsters and do get the drops. I've never personally received a Dragon spear, but I know they're out there! That said, I also know that sometimes I forget about the whole "Grimy herb" thing in the bestiary and do a search and have made submissions on it in the past! It's something that many others have done! I definitely think they should make sure that all monsters have the same type of thing, except for the ones that are exceptions of course. That way, when the search comes up empty, it sends that red flag up in our minds that something must be up and there's a reason it's not included verbatim in the drop list! I think they've done a pretty good job so far! Sy_Accursed
Perhaps the crew should get their coding techy folk to right an exception thing into the search script. So that all the herb names will also search for the generic term (herb, herbs etc) and same for seeds. That way rather than update thousands of monsters its jsut a case of them may same "herbs" but searching for Guam or Rannar would still produce em Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

Xena_Dragon
I will add a note to my to-do list to look into this. It certainly sounds doable to enhance the Bestiary search in regards to the issues mentioned earlier in this thread.
Xena_Dragon
This change has been made. When searching for a herb by its name (Rannar, Torstol, Lantadyme etc.) in the Bestiary, you will now be presented with a list of all creatures that drop herbs (or herb seeds). Keep in mind that lower level monsters are more likely to drop lower level herbs and vice versa.
