Movie Renting Topic - for anyone!

Featured Replies

Okay, so tonight a few of us are going out bowling, and want to rent a movie afterwards... problem is, the diversity in what genre we're into.

Two girls who like chick flicks and prefer to not have much violence, one guy who bases a movie on whether or not there's enough violence :P, and the rest of us, who don't really care (but don't really like chick flicks), as long as it's decently made and has decent acting... any suggestions? It'll be tough! And I can't think of anything for the life of me...

EDIT: For anyone who wants advice on which movie to rent, post here.

Since you're with a very diverse public I'd go for a comedy, nothing to heavy, that's for sure. Give me a few moments to think up a good one. :)

Hmm, horror always does good as well. For comedy I would say "High Fidelity" it has a bit of romance in it that the girls will appreciate, it has got the real guy attitude that the male audiance will like, it's musically orientated, it has Jack Black(!) and all kind of other funny characters in the movie itself. Everybody who has borrowed it from me liked it a lot, so I'd say it's worth a try.

As for horror, I'm not really up to date what's new in the horror genre, but a nice (modern) camp horror is a standard win!

Anchorman's a comedy. And it's got romance. And a gang war with extra tridents. But you've all probably seen it.

Ooh-kay... so my friend randomly came down from uni this weekend, and he has a hottub... so we kinda went into that instead after bowling ;) and we watched half-an hour of hitch - it was a new release, same sort of concept as high fidelity - you steered me in the right direction, even though we didn't watch the whole thing.
