Farming

Yeah so I have a measly 53 farming. I would like to train it up, as it is one of my lowest skills. I don't care about how fast I gain the XP, but I would like to make some money along the way. Any ideas?

~Thanks in advance.

Any other advice pertaining to farming is also appreciated.

Fast XP can be gained by planting trees and fruit trees, and you can make up for the cost by planting herbs...

Just plant whatever you have that you know that wont get diseased too often, and pay for your trees and fruit trees...

And while planting herbs, throw in some sweetcorn for good emasure/tuna potato making :)

Well, my main advice is horridly boring. Try to get a couple of allotment/flower/herb laps done per day. Pay the farmers if you have the payment easily available. For allotments and herbs, plant the best you can/have the seeds for, for flowers stick to marigold unless you have limp seeds. (They sell for 3-4K each). Always use super compost and magical secateurs if you have them (if not, do the quest as soon as you can).

Make sure to do a tree/fruit tree lap once a day. I always used Miscellania for nests and tended to have more than I managed to plant. As soon as you hit cactus (if you haven't already, can't remember lvl req) plant one and slip by every time you're in the area to pick the spines (payment for yew when you get there). Bushes are also good xp and a nice earner (whiteberries and poison ivys) and there are good tele's to most of them.

For my tele-rounds I ended up with this pattern (All the time I was on lunar)

Allotments:

Ectophial -> Cabbage ring -> ardy cape/skill necklace/fishing guild -> Catherbury

Bushes:

Ardy cape/ardy and run south -> combat bracelet -> skill necklace to craft guild -> spirit tree/fairy rings to etceteris (a pain without any of these two)

Trees/fruit trees

Start in catherbury -> lumby -> elf crystal to Lletya (if you have it) -> duelling ring to MA and spirit tree to maze, then the gnome out of maze and back in after replanting -> spirit tree to stronghold (both fruit and regular here) -> spirit tree to GE and run to Varrock (or tele, but no lunar tele available) -> ardy tele and boat to brim/karamja gloves to Shilo and cart up -> duelling ring to CW and balloon to Taverly (regular log) -> run or tele to Fally park.

I wouldn't reall bother with hops unless you have time to spare (Seers and Yanille are closest to bank) or need them for brewing.

Best of luck :thumbsup:

Take a look at my AoW farming guide. It'll help you in your farming training.

Basically, you'll want to plant your best tree and fruit tree and do runs whenever you can. Throw in herb runs as well.
