A first in a strategy game, R.U.S.E reinvigorates the genre by using deception to give new-found depth to the gameplay. Developed by Eugen Systems, RUSE is an RTS set during WWII. The game is based around ruses, which are deception techniques used to trick your opponent in various ways, split up into 3 different categories: - Reveal: these ruses such as the Spy Plan or Decryption are useful in order to understand or uncover your enemys actions.- Hide: the Radio Silence or Camouflage Net will let you hide your troops or buildings from your opponents radar.- Fake: the last category of ruses is used to trick your enemy, to make him believe what you want him to believe. The Decoy Offensive simulates an attack to confuse your adversary. The videos also show it will support multi touch screens. Oh how I wish I had one now. Adding a new element to the age old RTS genre should be interesting. Having finally tricked Steam into finally finishing the download, I have started to play the campaign and I have to say, I'm really impressed so far. I doubt I will buy the full game, it would take something spectacular for me to buy a game with Ubi's new DRM. That system is going to cost them so much in sales. Want to be my friend? Will buy this game when it comes out. You have to have full internet connection during playing, even the campaign. If you lose connection the game stops working, which is an annoying and horrible system. For online play having a full version and having internet connection is vital anyway, but for the campaign, it is a lot less hassle to pirate it and get around the DRM. Want to be my friend? If my internet cuts out while I'm playing multiplayer, [cabbage] happens. If it cuts out whilst I'm playing the campaign, why should I be punished for my ISP's inability to give me a constant, stable connection? Might just not do anything this weekend and buy it then. EDIT: Just pre-purchased it, opted for the 10% off as the 2 maps are single-player only which doesn't justify the cost.
