November 14, 200520 yr From what i've heard from about 10 of my friends this movie really sucks, according to a recent poll it was rated like 1 star out of 5? Anyone else seen it? :P
November 14, 200520 yr It is currently pulling 7.5/10 on imdb. I haven't seen it but it sounds rather good TBH.
November 14, 200520 yr well, the download i had of it was corrupted, and i ended up not going to the flicks this weekend like planned, so i havent seen it yet. i may go sometime this week (no grass growing = no full time job (2 part time jobs still 8) ) = little money = lots of time :D ), but ive never gone to a flick by myself before, i think it would be to wierd.
November 14, 200520 yr From what I've heard it was a really well-done movie with superb casting an an excellent soundtrack.. definitely on my "to see" list..
November 14, 200520 yr I haven't really looked into it, I guess I'll see it when and if it comes out here in Holland. :) I don't think it will come to our cinema, we don't have Saw II or Corpse Bride either. :| Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
November 17, 200520 yr I liked how it wasn't "Just another war movie." It was more deep than that. I liked the emotions, and the feelings of desperation and hopelessness. Eh, maybe I'm just a saddistic [wagon].
November 18, 200520 yr I thought it was a very good movie. My friend who I went to see it with thought it was crap because not enough people got shot.
November 18, 200520 yr Man, you're friends have bad tastes in movies. Jarhead was excellent. Here's why I think that: 1) As someone said earlier, it wasn't just another war movie. In fact, I don't know if you really could consider it a war movie if you compare it to the rest of the genre. The movie was about people and the affects of leaving marines out in the desert for half a year without ever seeing combat. 2) The casting was superb. Jamie Foxx and Jake -can't-bother-to-look-up-how-spell-his-last-name-right-now are both fantastic actors. Their performance (especially Foxx) really helped show what being in the Marines can be like. 3) Despite the lack of action, the movie kept my interest the entire time. I was really impressed they could make such an interesting movie out of the plot they had. The movie wasn't the best I've seen and nor should it be thought of as anything "extraordinary" but its definitely worth the money I paid - and worth seeing again. (I forgot to mention how funny it was. Man... I never expected to be laughing as much as I did.)
December 15, 200520 yr By the time I got out of boot camp, I was hyped to see it. Came back and it was taken out of the theatres. But from what PMIs and Drill Instructors had told us nearing the end of our 3rd phase/graduation, we hadn't missed anything.
December 15, 200520 yr I saw a trailer for it in cinema, and I must say it looked damn promising, so now I know that it's comming here, I'm deff. gonna see it. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
December 15, 200520 yr it turned out to be nothing monumental. i liked it, and it was filmed well, the story just didnt keep you into it all that much. if you are a marine or part of a division of the armed forces, you might enjoy this movie more than most people. like i said before i enjoyed it, but thats probably because jake gyllenhaal + sam mendes. EDIT: probably should point out while it is a war movie, there is not much fighting in it. i think one time they get attacked by mortars, but never see anyone. thats the only fighting there is, except when they are watching apocalypse now, they are watching people fight :D
December 21, 200520 yr i think jarhead was good actually it was like a comadey it was funny but then there was action to it to thats what made it good.
