Could someone please tell me the fastest and most efficient way to get up to 50 runecrafting while still breaking even.

I'd say, if you want to break even -> Air runes for the first levels. Cosmics after that through abyss I think and from 44 and on, nature runes all the way.

 

Good luck on it tough.

So making nats through the abyss is best? or should i use the fairy rings?

Abyss if you can take the damage, have 60 in other related skills, etc.
