I have these skills:

and I was wondering what equipment I should use for melee? What do you think? I have about 13 mil at my disposal, but I don't feel like using it all. I'm pretty new back so I'm lost on a lot of the new equipment.

Right now I'm using (remember, I'm new to getting back, haven't done many quests):

Warrior helmet

Rune top/bottom

Zam cape

Whip

Obby shield/Zam Prayer book

Drag boots

Glory

No gloves

What equipment do you have right now? A cheap barrows top/legs and black dhide are pretty good, however basic they may be. Fury is pretty expensive right now, so you may want to just stick to a glory.

I'd start looking into upgrading your armor to barrows. Whether it be a full set or separate pieces to maximize your Defense, or Prayer bonus. Personally I'd get full Guthan since your summoning is too low for a bunyip and you don't have access to Enhanced Excalibur. You can still use your rune armor during normal training, and then switch over to Guthan when you need some healing thus saving you from degrading quickly. You should also consider doing the Fremmy Isles quest to unlock the Neiz Helm. I will be the first one to admit how hideous it is, but it has a function, and it does that very well.

Also a Rune Defender is going to be your best friend! It is the best shield slot item 90% of the time and it only takes a few hours to earn one. I'd head over to the Tip.it main website and read the Warriors Guild guide to get a pretty good understanding of what you're in store for.

It's also time to get you some gloves, preferably the highest Recipe For Disaster Gloves. However, Dragon Gauntlets from FoG aren't a bad option as well, just anything is better then not having any.

All of this should set you back 6M tops

Also, Obby Capes are extremely cheap nowadays, around 180k last I checked, so that should also be in your list.

Obsidian capes are useless.

Considering he doesn't have a skill cape, and I'm assuming that he doesn't have either a Soul Wars Cape or a Firecape, it will do for now; at least it's better in most situations to a Mage Arena Cape.
