Dragonkin Key?

I finished while Guthix sleeps like 3 days ago and the first thing i did was go kill tormented demons. so after like 20 fail trips and some skilling i remembered oh ya i got like.. 2 key parts from that quest... what was that for again? so i looked at guide and i'm like oh ya so i checked my bank and.. the pieces were gone? then i went to the place and couldn't find the door and yada yada the place is open now thx to Kuradel... so why did i still get the key parts during the quest? Anyone got an ideas on this? Did jagex forget to remove them? is there a door i didn't see? why are my key parts gone? do they vanish when you bank them because i was to focused on the quest to care about them when i banked for the epic fight scene.

 

Plz comment on your ideas experiences and anything you found out.

The keys are used to open the strange Mithril door next to the mithril dragons.

In there you activate the lava smith to make the dragon platebody.

The rock climb to get to the lava smith has always been open since the release of wgs.

You should be able to get the key parts again if you go back to where you got em.

The key parts won't vanish, only way it vanishes if after you have unlocked the door.

If you haven't got them you must of dropped them.

But as described further up the thread you go the the mithril dragons, use one half of the key on one of them and you'll use their fire breath to forge them together.

This key then unlocks the mithril door north west of the staircase on the mithril dragon floor.

In the room there is 3 hanging dragon things and an orb, you have to cast fire wave(?) on each in turn to make it swing down to the orb.

Once all three are lit the dragon forge, found beyond Kuradel, will be lit allowing you to smith a dragon platbody (assuming you have 92 smith, the 3 lumps found by killing TDs and the special hammer bought for 1mil at the Blast Furnace(I think its blast furnace cant remember for certain though)

Yes, the guy to purchase the hammer is at the Blast Furnace.
