Blast Furnace Smithing

Featured Replies

I was at the furnace today checking it out and apparently you can break even bringing coal and mithril and making mithril bolts (unf). Does anyone have experience here and can anyone tell me how viable/time consuming this method is versus other methods of training smithing?

It's a lot easier then that for an idiot to sound smart on the internet.

That's exactly what you're doing right now... just saying.

You can generally break even or even make a small profit crafting mithril bolts or arrowtips. You should check the prices before you start since one or the other may make more money. Also remember to bring a sacred clay hammer for 2x exp.

I would say it is definitely worth it, you get decent exp, it breaks even, and its not boring since there are other people you can talk too.

It is an old guide but little has changed. You will need to calculate the prices yourself, just go to the calculations at the bottom and add in your own numbers. Bring a sacred clay hammer or two. You could also try smithing platebodies and alching them, but again, check the prices.
