looking to get 70 farm for varrock diary.

 

best/fastest way?

 

I dont want to spend a ton of money, and i do have a few mil to throw around. but i also dont want to take the total cheapest way, so somewhere in the middle would be great.

 

id also rather just do the stuff i dont have to keep constant watch over if possible, so is trees and herb the best? if so, which ones?

Best would be get 67 and use a garden pie.

 

Just do herbs while working on other things. I made over 20m going from 64 to 70 farming just from herbs/papayas

(picking, not replanting). If you're in a hurry, chain farm every single patch in the game while makng cash.

Yea 'd do this, loads of profit. If you want a bit more speed, you can do herb/fruit farming as well as planting trees. You might still profit, but not as much.

It's not worth even doing trees. Someone calced the max farming exp/hour once, assuming maximum yield, no deaths, ect. It was only about 100k/hour. You're not going to get it fast, Just do it the profitable way and temp boost. Stew if you're that impatient.

cash, plant herbs. Doing trees is unneccecarily stupid unless you're powerfarming to a high level and already have heaps of cash, or if you need another few k exp to a crucial level/are planting ones to pick or chop down.

Maple trees cost about 32k last time I checked, 5 * 32 = 160. If you check those trees once a day you only lose 160k if you can't make that in less then 30 minutes you have a bigger problem. In fact, if you only get one for about 15 minutes a day to do 2 herb runs and one tree run you'll still profit from the herbs. You could even spend the extra 260k and plant yew trees and still only need to play about an 45 minutes to an hour to make that back...

 

If you're interested, maples are currently about 9.5 gp/xp and yews are about 11 gp/xp.

 

Bottom line, plant trees and herbs if you're trying to reach a level. Plant only herbs always no matter if you're going for a level or not.

Planting 5 maple trees a day saves you 5 herb runs. Assuming no herb ever gets diseased that's an extra 375 minutes, more realistically about 400-410. he has to wait for whatever level he's getting. If he really wants the level I'd say saving 375 minutes a day would be worth the 160k. But still 2 herb runs a day would make that money back and still profit. That isn't time wasted btw that's time saved.

I still fail to see how it saves time...unless he needs the third varrock diary immediatly.

 

Edit: to be fair, if it's in the short term and you earn x Or more gp an hour, it probably is more efficant to plant trees for exp. I'm biased against wasting cash on exp when you can gain (exception of herby, ofc.). I'm not posting again, but if it is more efficiant for him, I concede. I'm not getting into an epic death battle because I'm self righteous.
