Unsecure computer? Possibly Hacked?

Ok so this is going to be kind of random, but:

I tried to log in Runescape today for the first time in a while, maybe 2 months, and my password was incorrect, which was pretty strange. I haven't actually changed it for at least 3 years, so there is no way I could have had it wrong.

So anyway, I did the whole recovery questions jazz, and set a new password, and logged in. Strangely, it said I last logged in from this address 10 days ago : <ip removed>

I found this strange, as I hadn't loggged in for at least a month, and my internet service provider is not Orcon, it's Telecom. And I don't know of anyone who uses that provider.

Anyways, I googled that address, and the only thing I foudn was this:

461) <name removed>

Location:

New Zealand

IP logged Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.8) Gecko/20071008 Firefox/2.0.0.8

Wanted: Alloy swingarm for a 1976 CR250 Mugen project. Any condition considered. Thanks.

Which was here

It appears to be some sort of part sawpping forum for motorbike parts...

I used this tool to locate the IP address, and it said it was located in Tauranga, which is a city in the North Island of New Zealand, over 1500kms from where I live. More specifically, <>. And googling this, I managed to find out that at <>, which seems to be home to a real estate comapny, a finance company, and possibly some apartments. So, yeah [bleep]ed if I know what's going on there.

However it doesn't look as though my account has been touched or anything, so it's a bit of a mystery as to what has happened here, or why. If someone has indeed tried to steal my account, I'm at a bit of a loss at who, or why, or what exactly happened. So yeah, any thoughts anyone?

First off, has your friendslist been messed with?

Second, have you run the usual suite of antivirus/antispyware/antimalware programs, just to be on the safe side? (Doesn't hurt to check!)

Third, could you have accidentally told anyone anything that would allow them to get in to your account?

(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)

1 Nope.

2 Sort of, not a full scan yet (curently processing)

3 No, and it's been secure for over 3 years, and as I don't play anymore, I don't exactly talk about it or anything.

I'm not really that concerned, more just curious.

EDIT:

Ok, well a full scan has revealed a Trojan.bho..

Hmm time to upgrade internet security methinks

I'd encourage the use of multiple tools for malware detection. One "Trojan" generally brings friends with it.

If you get clean results from 3 or more tools, you might consider the machine clean for most purposes. I'd

still watch my bank accounts closely (if you do any I'net banking), and if you're a government employee or

high-level officer in a business, I'd tell my I.T. guys right away. ;-)
