ive seen a lot of these at dks recently, whats so special about them?

They're fast and powerful.

It's worse in terms of power than the Rune Xbow since you can use better bolts with Rune xbow and you can use an Unholy Book for a higher ranged bonus or equip a shield for more defense.

 

But Karil's xbow is faster.

Karil's xbow is marginally more useful at 99 range at low range def monsters because of its attack speed of 7 i believe.

Rune crossbow is better than karil's crossbow. People just use it because they're too lazy to pick up bolts.

Karils crossbow was far more useful before enchanted bolts and rune cbows. It used to serve its purpose as a jad-killer, but updates have since devalued it in terms of use. I have, and always will love the bow, but it has been outdone. The ammo is relatively cheap, but you cant pick it up. So, overall, not very useful these days.
