Herby Or Summoning?

Featured Replies

I'm not sure why I decided to go for turmoil first. But I've banked it, and I should finish altaring it in about a week.

I'm wondering what my next skill goal should be. My options seem to be extremes or unicorn.

Extremes: I'd be pretty good at gwd. I could solo bandos and be reasonably difficult to crash.

I'm not sure how I should level this. It seems cleaning herbs is almost as fast as making potions, except for the ridiculous clicking factor.

Unicorn: This would solve all my hp problems. I could camp stuff a lot more easily.

My main issue is how to get charms. Even with barrage, this is going to be a ridiculously long time spent gathering crimsons before I can do anything.

What would benefit me more?

I like to do bossing (DKs, KBD, and GWD when I can get a world) and slayer about equally.

Is there some equipment I should buy first instead? Currently, my only expensive equipment is a set of verac's.

Thanks, guys.

First get a yak, then 92 herb.

First get a yak, then 92 herb.

-looks at evils levels-

do as he says, not as he did.

I agree though. Im getting turmoil then 85 herb stewing for extr strengths, then a yak, then 92 stewing for overloads.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.
...
It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

Yeah, I would rate yak as being the highest priority.

Yak > Herblore > Turmoil, IMO.

EDIT: And as Aeil says, do as we say, not as we do. I'm getting 95 prayer before a yak AND herblore. <_<

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

In my opinion

DKs - Yak > Overload > Turmoil

Solo Bandos - Overload > Turmoil > Yak (all are practically required during peak hours)

Team Bandos - Extremes > Turmoil > Unicorn

Team Sara - Extremes > Turmoil > Unicorn

Duo Armadyl - Yak > Unicorn > 92 Herb > Soul split

Team Armadyl - Unicorn=92 Herb

Corp - Overload > Turmoil

Slayer - Extremes > Turmoil > Yak

Edit for summary: If you choose...

Yak - Do Dks and (duo) Armadyl for money to get the others.

Herb/Turmoil - Do Team Bandos, Sara, Arma to get the others.

Good thing you got turmoil first. Use this turmoil to train your melee stats through slayer. If you want to have the best pots/familiars, you might also want the best stats. Getting 99 melees through slayer will be quite quick with turmoil, fero ring etc, and it should give you enough charms for 88 (block tasks that don't give charms or only golds (hellhounds)/ or tasks which are slow).

Also, one goal doesn't exclude the other goal, if you train slayer. I mean, slayer gives your charms "for free", and seconds and shards aren't really all that expensive. You will end up with extra cash after 99 melees through slayer and 88+ summoning. You can use this cash to train herblore.

An alternative would be to do waterfiends, which will get you 96 summoning while you get 99 melees. I would not do waterfiends however before 95 summoning so it's not really an issue (+ waterfiends would only give you around 100k profit an hour).

Thank you guys for the responses.

I just want to throw another option out there. I could chin 99 range+hp. Would help me at DKs and maybe even get me into decent Arma teams.

True, but given the existence of claws and ags rushers, I don't think I'll be pking for anything but fun any more.

Bit of a bump.

Is it worth training melee at waterfiends? I'd mainly be interested in the melee, but of course getting charms saves me time down the line.

I'm still considering buying range. Would've been better if I coordinated this and got extremes instead of turmoil. Meh.
