I am working on bonecrusher and am currently on floor 22, so im wondering is there a certain floor that you start getting gorgonite or prom at the beginning because so far the best I have seen is katagon 2h which I have binded right now.

It's all based on your levels. If you can't mine Gorgonite naturally, it won't give it to you. If you want Gorgonite, either get the level or get a teammate who has the level.

No, but it means your chances of getting one are much higher.

And as skylor said, maybe I'm wrong and you CAN get them, but it's either a bug or happens too rarely to take into consideration. Get a teammate. Or better yet, multiple teammates.

Skill doors you can't go through are more common, though.

For example, I get those all the time, but with just 80-ish crafting and 89 ranged, I never get Tyranomatyx or whatever you call it.

Something else that would help is to get the secondary skill to the right level as well. For example, get 90 smithing too. I'm 87 smithing, and I've only ever seen 1 Prom rock, despite 90 mining. Despite 99 farming, I've never seen Runic textiles, since I can't use it due to my low crafting.

I think he's talking about the items in the starting room.

They never go above katagon, sorry. :)

To Zaaps, I personally found that I encountered resources that were at my level or 1/2 tiers above - I rarely see cave moray/blue crabs, but I encounter salve eel/bouldabass/web snipper constantly. Same deal with ores - I encounter mostly katagon and gorgonite now, and very, very rarely promethium rocks. I find that grave creeper trees, the tier 10 tree, is the most common tier 10 resource I personally find - spiritbloom, promethium ore and... I'm assuming cave morays are tier 10 fish (?) are a fair bit rarer.

The theory that having the processing skill as well as the resource gathering skill it's connected to affects resource generation seems logical to me as well. I have higher processing skills than resource gathering in most/all cases, so I almost always see the highest tier stuff I can use, and rarely stuff one tier or two above like I said before - for mining/smithing, for instance, I always see katagon and gorgonite, but not too often do I see anything of lower quality, like zephyrium. Most plants I see to harvest fibres from seem to be runeleaf as well, and corpsethorn/entgallow trees are also common for me.

To the topic creator, I personally only see at max katagon weapons/armor for melee, ecto robes for mage, and range I'm not terribly sure about, but I'm assuming it's around the same tier stuff as melee/magic. I suppose, with soloing at least, your best bet would be to wait till you start encountering the higher level forgotten warriors (gorgonite warriors are 95 ish combat, promethium are 110, I believe) and hope one drops it's weapon. The further I go down, the more often I see the highest level varieties of shades, warriors, mages, and rangers, so hopefully you'll run into a warrior.

Would be far faster to just get a friend or someone else to help you mine and smith a weapon, though.
