I'm leveling a pure, and as I want to do slayer and summoning on it, I'm wondering if it would be that detrimental to get say level 41 in Attack Strength Defence and Range before going p2p.

 

Total its only about 165k xp, which is like 41k slayer xp and who knows how many charms. In the long run would it be better to level up in f2p first?

Uuh, 40k slayer exp and about 200 charms ain't much.

 

Do whatever appeals to you.

p2p makes everything faster so....get it as soon as possible...
