I'm logging in the game as usual but it got extreamly lag after i log on.

Firstly it's "laggy".

Secondly, you haven't really asked a question... but I'm going to give the standard response of:

Try playing on a different world

Try playing with different settings

Make sure there isn't an automatic virus scan running on your computer (same for automatic updates)

Try rebooting your computer

give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever

Hey. Firstly, welcome to the forums !

Secondly, Can you give us some more details on your specs?

What browser are you using?

What OS are you using?

What setting are you playing in? (HD or SD)

Two things which may help:

  1.
  2. Deleting your cookies
  3. Start RuneScape in safe mode

I was recently having the same problem but thx to some help from a player on the rsof i got it solved. Heres what he told me to do.

Most "error_game_crash" messages are caused by one of two things, either not enough memory is allocated to Java, or Java has crashed/failed.

Memory Allocation can be done by following these steps:

1.Attempt to run RuneScape and you will see a small Java 'Coffee mug' icon appear in the bottom right of the Windows taskbar (the system tray).

2. Right click this icon and select the 'Open Control Panel' option.

3. Select the 'Java' tab on the window that appears. You should see two panes.

4. Select 'View' under the first pane, which will be labeled 'Java Applet Runtime Settings'.

5. You will now see your installed Java versions. In the fourth column (titled 'Java Runtime Parameters') double click, and you will have a text entry box.

6. Type -xmx128m into the box. The 128 part tells Java to use up to 128mb of RAM instead of the default, which is much lower. To allocate more or less, just change the number. It is not recommended to go for any more than 60% of your total RAM! (to see your total ram, go to

"Start > run" and type dxdiag. It should be on the first screen)

7. Click Apply and OK, then close your browser (if open) and re-open. Try playing RuneScape!

==========

As for Java failures, try upgrading to the newest version of Java.

To uninstall Java from your system, use the Add/Remove Programs utility in the Microsoft Windows Control Panel.

1. Click Start

2. Select Settings

3. Select Control Panel

4. Double click the Add/Remove Programs control panel icon

5. The Add/Remove control panel displays a list of software on your system, including any Java software products that are on your computer. Select the java version that you want to uninstall by clicking on it, and then click the Remove button.

Then go to the java website and install the latest version of java.

All quoted from ApplejuiceAj. This completely solved my problem with the lag and even made it where now i can run HD mode in without any lag at all.

I used those instructions to change my Java settings, I've always really wanted to use High Detail. :) It works great, but I got a message saying that my graphics driver failed, and I had to restart RS. That never happened before.. do you happen to know what the default amount of RAM assigned to Java is, in case I need to change it back?

Sorry if I'm hijacking the thread. O.O
