Predator
Ok, well.... The other day I was downloading a file, and I suspected something so I scanned it (With AVG and Trojan Hunter), no problems, so when I opened it, I got the Spysheriff problem. Errors at the bottom right on the system tray were saying "Your computer is infected by spyware, Windows will automatically download the latest anti-spyware technology." It downloaded Spysheriff and changed my background. I deleted Spysheriff through Add/Remove Programs and I scanned my computer with Adaware and removed all the spyware. I restarted my computer and now it won't start up! It gets stuck everytime at "Windows is starting up," so I can't do anything except go into safe mode, safe mode with networking doesn't even work it gets stuck too. I scanned with Spybot, Adaware, AVG Free (Did nothing except locate some viruses) and Trojan Hunter, Spybot and Adaware picked stuff up and I removed it, AVG located some viruses in my Sun Java folder and some places else but didnt remove them, and Trojan Hunter doesn't seem to work. What else can I do? I can't use the internet or anything, I'm on Windows XP Home edition. Here's my Hijackthis log. Sharper
For starters you need to download LSPFix and remove the newdotnet dll. Search google for LSPFix and you will get the main website to download it from.
Lorddragonxx
What Brand of PC are you running? You may be able to perform a non-destructive system recovery. I would only advise doing this if nothing else works, it returns the computer (aside from the user created portions) to factory settings, which USUALLY fixes your problem. If it's an HP, I'm positive you hit F10 when booting up, as soon as you turn on the PC.

coltm4carbine
In the event that you lose Internet access after removing New.Net, please double-click LSPFix[Caution: ExecutableFile] that you downloaded earlier. You will see 2 panels. If there is any file listed in the "Remove" panel on the right-side, leave it as is and just click "Finish>>" then reboot your computer and you should now have access to the Internet. ^ nicked from my canned speech- tells you how to use lspfix. why google toolbar? i actually recommend it in my prevention speech on another forum. as for messenger plus it should be ok unless there is a sign of a lop.com infection. btw bad luck on the ccleaner forums. I think rridgely was a bit too harsh at you.
fullup
It's probably a virus-related dodgy .dll causing the problem. I've seen something almost identical to this recently (I do this for a living). Run AVG again and let us know what viruses it can't remove. Predator
Okay, I'm pretty sure it's something with my internet that's causing this problem, not the internet itself, (Since my mom's and brothers internet is wroking) but a program is making it screw up. I can't go into safe mode with networking, but i can go in to Safe mode. I typed msconfig into run and disabled everything except the essential stuff, and my computer finally worked, it would get past the "Windows is starting up" screen and I could log in. In there, I enabled everything in services that had to do with my internet/connection, here is what I enabled: TCP/IP Netbios Helper Net Logon Network Connections Network Location Awareness NVIDIA Display Driver Service Plug and Play Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Webclient Wireless Zero Configuration Network Provisioning Service After those, my computer wouldn't start up again, I disabled Webclient, Plug and Play, and it still wouldn't start up. I also used the LSPFix, I opened it and clicked finish, that's all, and it said it repaired some things but my computer still won't start, if it helps, here is an updated Hijackthis log.
