Vyleo
I love Dungeoneering. It's one of my favorite skills, and I never have not enjoyed raiding a floor. Seeing as I'm probably not the only one with such a passion, I decided to search for a high level Dungoneering clan chat and joined it in order to form parties faster. Big mistake. The people I played with were angry, hypercritical, and overall just rude. To me, that is. Now, I know it's not uncommon for people to prefer some users over other. That's simply an inevitability in every social construct, be it virtual or not. But what I do have a problem with is being ganged up upon for making a harmless mistake. See, we were all doing the mimic puzzle where players have to correctly mirror what the statues do. Prior to my mistake, two other of the clan regulars messed up twice each, causing the statues to do about 200 damage total to us. They casually laugh it off, and even though I wasted some food, also decide to brush it off. At this point, I suffer a bit of lag, and don't respond to my mimic statue, causing everyone in the party to suffer 10-15 damage each. What happened afterward surprised me. Immediately, I was ganged up upon and called a noob and threatened with a kick if I messed up again. I tried explaining what happened, but to no avail. To make things worse, the players started power looting, making food hard to combine, causing one of my deaths in the long run. If that wasn't bad enough, on another sliding statue puzzle, I moved the statue up instead of right, causing 10 seconds to be added to our floor raid time. Needless to say, I got borderline verbally harassed. The ignore list is starting to become a great friend.
Lacoste
I always try to stay away from cc's for the sole reason that they are very "cliquey" and its hard for an outsider to come in terms with more of the known people in the cc. Thank goodness for your ignore list though :)
Zaaps1
Not sure what to say. I've never experienced things like this when I've visited "themed" clan chats, like star hunting, penguins, etc. But, I can totally see it happening. That's rough, but I've always thought solo dungoneering was the better option since I never could be bothered with teams. ~It's Super Effective! People you don't know tend to be jerks. It's a problem with RS. Ummmmmm.....................Not much to say. If you want to find me in Runescape, my name is not applyapple. It is vetoscadiva. Complain as you like about Jagex, but think about what they've done. How many MMORPG designers go around to creating as complex an in-game world as Jagex? They do need to get around to making a equipable knife, though. With everyone's complaining about updates, it's amzing that there isn't a forum topic on the fact that the chat box says "You can't reach that" (as opposed to "I can't reach that!"). All_Is_Great
Just leave the dungeon, have them fight a 5:5 boss with 4 people, that should give them some trouble and make them think again about being rude.
quelmotz
I can empathise. I guess it's inevitable in any society/community. There will always be people forming their own "gangs" or whatever you wish to term them, and attacking those who are different from them. And not just different as in a physical/psychological difference. They can make their own arbitrary difference and use it as a basis on which to ostracise you. Like whether you're their "friends" or not, though as far as I can see you're far more "friend-worthy" then those people. Click here for an awesome suggestion to revive smithing! Youmu
W1's chat "F2p Dg" has a decent amount of people in it (assuming you're F2P, which by the looks of it you are). Shouldn't give you too much trouble.
