Hi guys,

 

I have some ideas on how to train mining now, but still need a little help. I am trying to get 77 to go to LRC, since my ultimate goal is 99. I am currently 66, and have the following options:

 

1. Powermining Granite

2. Iron mining through kyatt's/caste wars banking

3. Gold in the Azarnian (sp?) mine.

 

I KNOW granite is probably my best option, but I would like to profit a bit from these 11 levels, and was curious if I should do iron or gold, or if there was another option?

If you want to profit, definitely go with iron, since it is much quicker xp and just as good financially. However, I would recommend mining granite, because you can almost double the xp/hour of iron. If you need help just check out my guide under General Guides.

my favorite places to mine are gold/addy (mostly gold) in noth keldi, and gem rocks in shiloh. Not the fastest but I find the slower pace more enjoyable then iron/granite.

Do granite. The profit is really insignificant compared to speed.

I get all my shattered heart mining rocks there, it's fast.

you only need ardy cloak 1.

is the Ardy cloak + ring of duel any good? I might try that instead of the kyatt running, that gets tedious.

gem rocks aren't half bad, so long as you bring something to do while waiting for the rocks to respawn

As you've read there are many situations.

 

- gems + some alch + chisel = ftw (go up to arrow tips if you want to stay on the place)... they'll be awesome usefull in the long term.

 

- granite = timed ftw (i'd go there up to 80)

 

- LRC on crowded worlds = at least you bank something priceless for the related skill (smithing gold ore + goldsmith gaunlet is ftw)

 

- monastery iron + cw = ftw too since you fast bank the ores (you can superheat steel bars on the go too)

 

whatever your choice : consider the dragon pikaxe as a small plus on the long term and of course the best Varock armour you can get.

Probably going to do Monastery Iron + CW, since I think granite is a waste of time without mouskeys on (which I have off, and don't feel like turning on)

 

I think granite is good for some people, but not for me. Besides, if I bring a familiar to the Monastery (terrorbird), that is 40 iron per trip, and would only require 80 some dueling rings
