So....a little baffled and lost

I played this game from classic until about..2007/early 08 when my old computer couldn't handle it anymore. I logged into free member on RS today to see what's going on with it and uhh..it's a tad overwhelming all the changes and i have no blasted clue what's going on.

 

So...can someone just..perhaps....summarize what the heck has been happening in the last...3 years? lol

 

(actually, to simplify...what major NEW things have happened)

When i left...the....creature summoning had just started a few months prior.....and it wasn't on this...strange 3d ickiness i see now (maybe i just have to get used to it)

 

Another major question is about the server list..this is majorly different and am not sure what the difference is between "loot share" and not loot share..is this...when you are..murdering some unfortunate troll and if it drops say..5 seeds...it is split amongst your group?

 

What is "soul wars"?

 

Where did the....realms go for that fishing boat game? (i was a tad obsessed with this way back)

 

Lastly....did the horrid imbalance between the creation of potions and the mat gathering price fix itself yet? lol (i just remember something with losing a buttload of money making something with..ranaar seeds)

Umm a couple, the NEW DUNGEOONERING SKILL.

Update to prayer, curses.

Update to herblore, Extreme/overload potions.

Major graphical updates.

Lootshare/Coinshare is when you fight a creature with friends (in a "Clan Chat") and the drops are split amongst each person in there (coinshare its instant sold and you all get a % of it), New skill(s), updates to old skills, graphic enhancements, honestly too many to list.

 

as for Soul Wars, its a bit like Castle Wars except you have a giant lv 500+ thing called a Avatar on each team and you need to lower its Slayer req' and team up and kill the opposing Avatar.

Dungeoneering skill!? AHHHHHHH!!!! Must figure this out, right now trying to figure out my armor and stuff as i'm rather baffled why i have in my inventory leather items, platemail things and misc but no helmets that seem of any use. I hate trying to remember this crap. :/ I just found some fishing thing that didn't exist before (fish flinging) but got lost trying to find my way around. Ugh..and half my online friends there seem to have quit around the same time as me so not much help me whispering anyone, lol

 

I think i'm going to have to go reread the entire freaking RS manual. *sigh* I have SOOO much stuff in my inventory, forgot i was a bloody pack rat. I'm also convinced i must've stuck some stuff into the grand exchange before i quit and it ate my gear set i was using which was from...uhhhh..some place in the east......where you run into tombs or something and defeat bosses and then jump into another tomb ...i sound like a bloody newb.

 

Ahh yes, i do remember lootshare/coinshare..think it was newish when i left.

 

Must go read....manuals....and find out about this new skill...tho without knowing anything about it, makes me think i just run into a dungeon and see how far i go before i die...perhaps getting lost gives a few experience points... :P

 

Herblore...i LOVED herblore..i was rather obsessed with herbing/farming/fishing before i bailed.

 

Got the major graphical updates, having a rough time moving around as my little minimap is tiny now. booooooo (along with the chat..that's really really tiny)

It costs even more money to train herblore now, mainly due to the high level herblore update. Therefore you're always losing at least 1- 2k per potion you make.
