Dragon Slayer Quest: Sailing to Crandor Island

I'm trying to complete the Dragon Slayer Quest. As per the directions on the Tip.It quest walkthough, I obtained all three map pieces, 2k, 3 planks, 90 steel nails, and a hammer. When I went to Port Sarim to speak with Klarense, he offered to sell me the boat, but I'm given no option to buy it. Have they changed who you need to buy the boat from?

See what the quest diary says. Not sure what else you could do. Is there still a quest help function on the Rs main site? Not sure if that has Dragon slayer or not on it.

You probably need to talk to the master at the Champions Guild again. See if there isn't a specific question about the ship and/or getting to Crandor.

You do not need to talk to the guildmaster at all in the middle of the quest.

Unless you didn't talk through all of the options before. And if you didn't then you would not be able to buy the boat, hence the suggestion to talk to him again.

Thank you for all of your replies. I thought I had spoken to the guildmaster about it, as I remember him talking about needing a Crandorian ship, etc. I must have walked away when he was done instead of clicking continue and it didn't register or something. I went back to speak with him again, and afterwards I was allowed to buy the ship.

I did have one more question about this quest. Do I have to defeat the dragon (or try to fight him) before I can look for and use the secret passageway that leads to Karamja? I'm wondering because I'm not sure if I'll be able to defeat him and want to be able to run away and return later if I'm getting beaten up too badly.

Thanks again,

Jaden.

The suggestion I will make as I'm unsure is to try. Get the gear you wish to fight the dragon in and before going into it's room go to check the passage.

You can use the shortcut before you kill the dragon. This is what I did.

Shawn3090: Thank you for your information. I'll look for that door before I go anywhere near the dragon's lair.

Danqazmlp: Thank you for your advice. I'll make sure I've got all needed provisions, just in case.

Jaden.
