June 5, 201016 yr I randomly lose the connection to the internet; I have two computers one running XP Pro and one running Vista home premium, directly connected to a D-Link router. Most of the time everything is fine but sometimes when I turn a computer on, there is no connection. I have to go into the router page and press DHCP release then DHCP RenewThere is not any updates for the router. Since there is not likely a solution, is there was a quicker/simpler way to log into the router page then press the two buttons, such as a .bat file?
June 6, 201016 yr Would you think a custom router firmware like dd-wrt would help? It's sort of a long-shot but it might.
June 6, 201016 yr I'm going to assume it probably isn't ISP related, but it wouldn't hurt to ring them up and see. How long have you had your router for exactly? I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. OPEN WIDE HERE COMES THE HELICOPTER.

I know it is not ISP related; I have had this router for exactly 1428 days. I hope this helps. Never mind I just bought a new router.
