Connection Problem

VARN

Recommended Posts

I randomly lose the connection to the internet; I have two computers one running XP Pro and one running Vista home premium, directly connected to a D-Link router. Most of the time everything is fine but sometimes when I turn a computer on, there is no connection. I have to go into the router page and press DHCP release then DHCP Renew

There is not any updates for the router.

Since there is not likely a solution, is there was a quicker/simpler way to log into the router page then press the two buttons, such as a .bat file?

I'm going to assume it probably isn't ISP related, but it wouldn't hurt to ring them up and see.

How long have you had your router for exactly?

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

Would you think a custom router firmware like dd-wrt would help? It's sort of a long-shot but it might.

My router is not listed as supported.

I know it is not ISP related; I have had this router for exactly 1428 days. I hope this helps.

Never mind I just bought a new router.
