Screen Resolution resets on bootup?

I've solved the previous topic: turns out I had to clean the registry, that reduced the crashes by a lot. Now I have a worse problem. Everytime I bootup my computer, no matter how I previously switched it off (via the button on the casing or "properly"), the screen resolution resets itself to 640 x 480, and my native resolution is 1920 x1080. This used to happen say, once or twice a month, but now it happens EVERY TIME I switch on my computer. It seems to hang around the native resolution at the welcome screen for a split second, though.

Any reason why this happens? My monitor's (Samsung Syncmaster 2233SWPlus) drivers are up to date, if there are even drivers for it at all. I'm pretty sure I updated my graphic card's drivers while hopelessly trying to fix my other problem. I've googled around and found nothing much with the exact same problem, although I've found similar ones.

Also, my mouse seems to screw up randomly when I start my computer up. Same scenario as above. Left/right clicks and programmable buttons work though.
