Saggitarian Longbow

Ok, so my currently bound Dungoeneering items are a Promethieum spear and platebody, and 125 blood runes

Near the start, I usually will make runes for earth surges to go with my bloods, as well as gate and cure (only on large maps) runes

 

Currently, Unless we find a Gravekeeper bow and a lot of Katagon+ arrows, I usually don't actually range, other then for those high level Mages and for a few bosses like Lexicus, night-gazer, and Astea

On the other hand, I find my self earth surging a lot for those common Primal warriors and level 130+ Zombies.

However, I have 99 range, and I've heard from a few people that the Saggitarian bow is pretty much Godlike.

 

Would it be worth giving up my Plate for the bow, or my runes for the arrows? If so, what are some good monsters to use them on, other than Forgotten Mages?

always bind sagittarian arrows over some random runes

they alch for 3k ea, and are awesome in themselves

 

the bow isnt really worth it

just get yourself 90 ish fletching and make a gravecreeper bow if you ever need one.

The only bow worth keeping in here is the hexhunter. It really is godlike. But it's also extremely rare. There's probably less than 10 of them in the game.

My only problem with this is that I would either need to raise my Runecrafting, rely on others to have 75 runecrafting, or downgrade to using Fire Blast as my best spell. Is this really worth binding some arrows to shoot at a few mages? (i haven't alched items for 20 levels, I never need the money)

I've got similar stats as you... I've got 99 range and mage, can't rc blood runes, and I've got prom plate+spear bound. I got 90 wc and 90 fletch just for dungeoneering... I cut creepy logs whenever I find them and make one into a longbow, and the rest into tier-10 ranging familiars for the rest of the group.

 

Shades and mages drop enough blood runes such that I can fire surge if a primal warrior shows up. I've got prom (p++) arrows bound too since I've never gotten sagitarrian arrows as a drop
