Some barrows pures beat me rather badly in clan wars by doing some sort of weird trick. They froze me with barrage and ran underneath me. They were able to step out and take shots at me, then walk under me again before I could hit them back.

 

How do you do this? What's the sequence of clicks that makes it work?

Counter by spam clicking attack on them while they are underneath you (use ice barrage to freeze them infront of you.

 

sequence =

 

go under person

click attack

imminently click walk under person

repeat

^ method works.

 

There is really no way to counter because of how RS works. Their attack command will go, but gets clipped by movement. Unfortuantly, unless you spam click the square they will move to before, you can't hit them.

 

Barrage and do it to them.

A good familiar could counter this. Or a good scroll.

It used to be kinda the noob way to safespot since it used to be possible to freeze someone then mage from a location where you could attack them w/o moving yet they couldn't attack you, even if they had a longbow and you had darts.

 

It's pretty easy to counter-- you just gotta keep trying to attack them at half-second intervals (spam-clicking's never good). If you're gonna try and freeze someone with that strategy it's better just to hybrid and take your time switching to claws or a dark bow or something, depending on which protection prayer they have on since they can't see what you're up to.
