A long time ago, I had friend, who loved to smith.

He achieved untrimmed smithing at about 90-something combat.

One day he posted a guide on some forums to 99 smithing.

In that guide, he had pictures of how he had his internet windows slightly opaque/see-through, so he could just read forums etc. while his character would smith, and he could see when he finished the inv.

I'm currently mining, working on 99, in the LRC. So I thought this would be helpful to me, because I read forums and stuff while I mine an inv. So I googled it, thinking "Google knows everything!". But I couldn't find anything.

Does anyone know how to do this with your browsers?

Seems like a neat idea, but not really worth it. If you have a decently sized screen, you could put rs on the left and tip it on the right. I dont know how your friend did it, though.

My screen is rather small though. :P

 

I just went back and found the guide and it says this:

 

If you're smithing/smelting something that takes a long time, I recommend you browse other websites and stuff while you wait (This is especially helpful for Cannonballs, as they take longer than anything else). The best way to do this is to overlay two browser windows on top of each other, while keeping the top one transparant (using a program). If you've done it right, you can browse websites normally, while still being able to see your Runescape window. And you won't get logged out since moving the mouse in the top window also registers on the bottom window! Here's a pic to show what I mean:

 

 

 

This can also be used in other skills that involve long waiting

(The program I use for transparancy is Afloat, but that's only for Mac I think)

As it says, that progam is just for mac.

For Xp I use to use one called "Windows Alpha Blender Freeware". Using a combo of Ctrl+F11/F12 you can change the x axis of screens, making them transparent. I have no need anymore since I dual screen but there usually are a few bugs with using those products.

I downloaded one named "Transparent Windows" (shocking) and it just has a slider on the browser you want to change the transparency of.

Works for me. :)

It has a bug when using swiftkit, where the rs screen shows solid on top of everything, no matter what window you have open.

Opaque is the opposite of transparent. You're trying to say translucent/transparent :thumbup:
