Is there any way I could get slightly slower xp but at a reduced cost? I'm willing to pay up to ~20 gp/xp. Thanks =)

the cheapest way i found was super def, but prices may have changed. only drawback is that they dont sell for much, but its still usually less gp/xp.

Take a look at this page. It shows the production costs of all pots. It appears that there are only 2 pots that give exp that is cheaper than 20gp/xp, and neither of them will sell well or give you decent exp/hour. Your best bet would be to bite the bullet and pay more. Also note that you arent really gaining many levels, so the extra cost to do a more expensive pot will be very small when compared to getting 99.
