Actually being on or offline has nothing to do with it, if you're offline your plants will continue on growing at the same rate and have as much chance on catching a disease as if you would be online.

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections.~unknown~

Not entirely true, actually.

Every time you log in or log in from the lobby, the plant's growth progress ON THAT STAGE resets. For example, if you have a small sized herb, every time you log in the growth status of it resets or is slowed down.

This is the reason why your herbs grow slower when you are doing lots of world hopping (like when rune mining).

Basically, try not to world hop too much and you'll be fine.

Know if that's changed by the lobby update, Zaaps?

Yes. Even if you log in from the lobby it resets/slows the growing process.

Since, however, your herbs still grow if you world hop for a full hour, there are two possibilities. It is not a full reset of that growing stage. Either:

1) It merely slows down development

2) Within each growing stage there are "substages" which are fairly short (maybe 1 minute per). And only the substages are reset, not the growing stages.

Tricky stuff.
