sumondskull6
Magic longbow (sighted) gives a whopping 140 range bonus, this is 32 more than that of a Chaotic crossbow and an Unholy book. It is 40 more than a fully charged Crystal bow, and it is also 42 more than a Rune crossbow and an Unholy book. This makes the Sighted bow extremely accurate when compared to the three next best combo's. Magic longbow (sighted)Using Void range with rune arrows, you'd have a range bonus of 175 and a max hit of 319 with Extreme range potion, Eagle eye, 99 range, using rapid.Using max range bonus gear with rune arrows, you'd have a range bonus of 250 and a max hit of 266 with Extreme range potion, Eagle eye, 99 range, using rapid. Rune crossbow + Unholy bookUsing Void range with Diamond (e) bolts (no special), you'd have a range bonus of 133 and a max hit of 467 with Extreme range potion, Eagle eye, 99 range, using rapid.Using max range bonus gear with Diamond (e) bolts (no special), you'd have a range bonus of 208 and a max hit of 395 with Extreme range potion, Eagle eye, 99 range, using rapid. Longbows have the same speed as Rune crossbow's, only now, the longbow is much more accurate. I guess the question I'm asking would be: Is the gained accuracy worth the loss of damage, if so, where? Zaaps1
No, the sighted bow is not worth it. Rune arrows are something like twice as weak as broad bolts. Even if you were to hit every time, it would still be worse than the rune crossbow unless you're ranging Rock Lobsters or something like that. It's really only worthwhile in f2p. Even then, the loss of speed makes it debateable at standard training locations. ~It's Super Effective! Owned_Nex
^ this. I think its just not cost effective to do so. Dungeoneering isn't a skill. I'm faster than bots at Sorceress Garden. Yes, because in order for the sighted bow to be better, the crossbow has to hit a 0 every other hit and the bow can never miss. In reality, it's going to be more like the crossbow hitting maybe 3/5 times and the bow hitting 4/5, or something like that. ~It's Super Effective!
