Rapier vs Longsword

Featured Replies

Why do most people like the rapier over the longsword? When I first saw the weapons I was instantly attracted to the longsword because it was basically a Vesta's Longsword that degraded at a tenth of the normal rate - the rapier looked like a decent stab weapon but not much else. So what gives?

There's cake through here, apparently.

Rapier is much better for training, due to a higher dps rate. It's the same reason why scimitar > longsword and whip > godsword.

Cls is generally accepted to be the better boss hunting monster, for reasons you said above. However, I've heard that rapier MAY be better at bosses than cls, although I haven't found concrete evidence.

Rapier is MUCH better than longsword at low def monsters, but longsword is only a bit better than rapier on high def, so rapier is more useful overall.

What about in the context of PvP/PKing?

Rapier is better for PVP than CLS, but maul is better than both.

EDIT: VVVVV TR00TH.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Depends what style of pking you do. Maul is just a better gs, rapier is just a better whip. Just think of it that way.

Ahh okay, that helps.
