When you change your name, what is the amount of time needed for the little blue and grey person icon to disapear from next to your name?

 

ex: mine used to be cowboy14 ---> Mister C14.

i noticed it disapeared after a few months. was wondering what that amount of time was and if any of you knew.

But more importantly after it went away some kid thought itd be funny in Codguys chat to snipe my old name (cowboy14) i dont want it back but i was wondering how much time must past b4 old names expire and the blue eprson icon goes away

The basic is the icon stays for 28 days and then you get another 7 days after tht in which ur old name is reserved.

But without any precise details jmods have also confirmed:

the long you've had a name the longer it stays yours and you keep the icon

Your original account name stays yours for a bit longer, even if you only had it a tiny amount of time

And the top people in highs cores (they clarified this meant more than jsut 1 person, but didnt say how far it went down) have their account name permanently reserved.

There is not set time, the icon stays for atleast 28 days and your name is reserved for atleast 7 days after that.

 

But the longer you had the prior name the long you keep the icon, theres no definites on the timing.
